Chris Pugh is the expert who will teach you the ABCs and 123s of the construction and home building industry at Pugh Builders GC Academy. The Academy offers different building and construction courses that can guide you to become a Licensed General Contractor. The Custom Home Building Course focuses on single-family new construction, remodel, rehab, and light commercials. Pugh Builders GC Academy Course is the best opportunity for newcomers to learn the art of Custom Home Building.
Our mission is to help participants obtain their General Contractors License, as they prepare to develop the skillsets and abilities necessary to become sought after Licensed Contractors. We plan to engage in this by providing a tangible training-based opportunity designed to introduce them to the various process and practices associated with becoming successful Licensed General Contractors. We will also introduce them to the social entrepreneurship principles that are essential in developing healthy communities.
Participants will receive tactical instruction, classroom guidance along with field exposure on the nuances of single-family home construction while learning the established principles gained from over 15+ years of active practice in the field of General Contracting. Participants will be instructed on the steps necessary to obtain a license to practice General Contracting in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Participants will be assisted in creating an Action Plan towards utilizing their General Contractors License and skills gained from attending the Pugh Builders General Contractors Academy to establish a niche in the rewarding career of Custom Home Building. Retirees, Veterans and Entrepreneurs are welcome.

The Pugh Builders GC Academy meets 3 Saturdays a month for four (4) months. Two (2) Saturdays are spent in the classroom learning the ABCs & 123s required in becoming a highly effective Licensed General Contractor/Custom Home Builder. One (1) Saturday is spent “in the field,” gaining exposure to seeing actual single-family custom homes as they are being constructed from the ground up to enhance the principles and practices being taught in the classroom.

My name is R. Murrell of Zoric Custom Builders and I recently matriculated through Mr. Chris Pugh’s Pugh Builders GC Academy. I am submitting this statement to share the ways in which the completion of the aforementioned program has impacted my career.
As a result of my time at the Pugh Builders GC Academy, I have mastered the content necessary to pass the general contractor’s Exam and successfully earn my general contractor’s license. When I initially signed up for the course, I expected to learn how to become an effective and skilled general contractor. However, I also had the opportunity to develop and hone skills that will enable me to manage the responsibilities associated with owning and operating a construction business. Mr. Pugh’s program focuses heavily on the nuances of the field, but also business-focused content such as funding/managing funds for projects, collaboration with other business leaders, and professionalism and business etiquette.
Pugh Builders GC Academy is innovative in its approach to helping individuals prepare for the next phase of their career and/or to transition into a new field. Upon completion of the program, I feel confident that I have the requisite skills necessary to find great success in this industry.

Pugh Builders GC Academy took us through the entire new construction process with both in class and in the field components. In the field (boots on the ground) we saw first-hand all phases of construction as we visited several homes during the construction phases and in the classroom learned the business side of construction including finance, suppliers, funding, contracts, and customer service.
Obviously, I could have study for the exam and just took the test, however I found great value in learning from someone who has the experience, is actively building homes and is doing this business not just talking about it. I own a full brokage Real-Estate Firm and have been a licensed Realtor for 15 years with inspirations to obtain my General Contractor’s License and I can truly say from day one in his class I knew I had found my Mentor/Coach in the world of Construction. This journey has been more than I could have hoped it to be.

I would like to take the time to share my experience in the Pugh builders GC academy. My profession at this time is Realtor that works with investor clients, and I do some investing/flipping houses. I was having a difficult time finding reliable contractors for work on my projects so I decided to figure out how I can control the work on my projects. I reached out to Chris from some social media post of his. I thought this would be a good avenue to help assist me with my knowledge and eliminate hiring General contractors. What I am receiving in the class is much more than I expected. Chris is giving me the blueprint on how to elevate my business, how to control the flow of finances and manage new construction projects.
